Several local Utah teachers and students in Provo in partnership with Mali Rising Foundation are committed to build a school in Mali. During a three week long read-a-thon in March 2012, seventh graders at Dixon Middle School raised $3,000. To raise the remaining funds to build the school, this group of volunteers organized a dinner and auction event.Mali Rising thanks Ginny DiRaimo and Lon Young as well as the many other volunteers that helped make the event a success.

The event was a great success and the students were able to raiseabout $8000. This puts them closer to their goal to build a school.
